The Safety Engineer (SE) will develop and implement procedures, guidelines, and methods to promote and ensure industrial safety and health. The Safety Engineer will identify unsafe or potentially unsafe situations.
Brief Job Description:
Perform all necessary shipping functions to include packaging, labeling, generating documents and scheduling of freight carriers. Position involves shipping of various chemicals and batteries (primarily Lithium-Ion batteries). Hazardous material shipping certifications are required in order to satisfy this position. Good computer skills are a must. Individual should have good multi-tasking skills, be team oriented and be able to work well under pressure. Maintaining packaging inventories and requisitioning material needs for the department is also required. This position reports directly to the Materials Manager. Standard hours for this position are Monday – Friday from 7:30 – 4:30.

This is a multi-discipline position that will involve electrical design, mechanical design, software, and process creation. Approximately 50% of your time will be spent working hands-on conducting product tests, supporting test equipment, cable builds and performing setup validations.

Summary Description:
The Senior Mechanical/Manufacturing Process engineer’s primary responsibility is providing mechanical engineering support for lithium ion cell manufacturing in safety, quality and equipment issues. Secondary responsibility is supporting prototype & pilot trials in sub-assembly which may include designing and qualifying new equipment & tooling. Both responsibilities involve creating PS/MOI, writing & executing RFQs/CERs for new equipment, and being the site’s SME on precision control of the C-to-Q parameters. Daily interaction is expected with the maintenance team, other engineers, and operation members. This position reports to Cell Process Engineering Manager.
